New engines. The view from companies: Renault Trucks Italia

We continue our journey through the major vehicle manufacturers to discover new sustainable engines, including those already on sale and those due to come to market in the near future. The view from Renault Trucks Italia.

Safe, comfortable and sustainable – this is how commercial vehicles are preparing for the future; and manufacturers have long been looking for alternatives to traditional engines for reduced emissions, as well as increased road safety and driving comfort. Manufacturers are already moving in this direction and there are a diverse range of investments in sustainable industrial vehicles, from electric vehicles (with registrations in 2023 five times higher than the previous year – source: Unrae) to engines powered by biofuels and HVO biodiesel through to hydrogen.

Renault Trucks Italia is also continuing its efforts in the energy transition arena. It is developing advanced technologies to provide the light and medium-heavy transport industry with vehicles whose impact on the environment is minimal. Erica Zaffaroni, Marketing & Communication Manager Renault Trucks Italia, states: “Today we offer 100%-electric transport solutions that meet all the main market needs in both urban and suburban areas. But above all, we support companies in the process of energy transition and the gradual switch to E-Tech vehicles. We do this by not only providing the product, but by designing and planning strategies to guarantee the operations and quality of each customer's activities. Decarbonising freight transport is certainly not a quick process; companies are faced with difficult choices in terms of products and charging infrastructure and the logistical management of deliveries. The near future will therefore feature a ‘mixed’ product offering, which will not focus solely on one engine type (diesel or electric) but will offer customers a wide choice of low- or reduced-emission transport solutions that will perfectly meet their individual needs.”

For Renault Trucks Italia Transpotec Logitec will be an opportunity to present the 100%-electric heavy-duty product T and C E-Tech for the first time in Italy, as well as some important innovations in its diesel vehicles. It’s an unmissable event if you want to understand what is at the forefront of innovation in the sector today.
