Progress brought about by new technologies is experienced daily by those who use them; hauliers who have adopted digital tools for fleet management are the first to witness the benefits they bring. Crisafulli Express’ testimonial.

The innovation achieved through management systems and solutions inspired by the principles of Industry 4.0 are reflected in the reality of day-to-day work; hauliers are rapidly changing and many are already experiencing the benefits of these systems.

Crisafulli Express, which will be present at Transpotec Logitec to present its freight transport and logistics services, is a company now in its third generation: “We never stop innovating and learning, because we believe this is the only way we can continue to serve our customers with the best solutions the market can offer and the best approach to protect our employees and suppliers every day” - explains Salvo Nicolosi, Snr Safety & Quality Manager.

“It is inevitable that our evolution has taken place and continues through the 4.0 digital transformation, in an environment made up of ambitious and trained young people, for whom we provide the best available technologies: internal traffic management tools, digital apps created ad hoc for tracking shipments and for the constant accompaniment of our road travellers, who receive all the necessary information for carrying out the services entrusted to them safely and accurately on their smartphones. Our travellers, in turn, provide us with constant outputs using the same system. The continuous flow of information is then channelled through three different channels, which are in close contact with each other: the fleet control, operations and maintenance management system; the KPI control dashboards for continuous deep dive on all the metrics relating to our productivity and efficiency; and the output for our customers, who can access and check all their needs in real time, whether documentary, digital or photographic”.

Training is a key issue for the company: thanks to the ease of use of the systems available today, every process becomes an opportunity to train new employees.

Nicolosi explains: “The aim is to be able to train and include in our team increasingly high-performing professionals, allowing outstanding people to develop and improve and leaving room for additional resources who will find the necessary tools and training within our own team”.

But what are the benefits of having adopted state-of-the-art systems?

We do not want to dwell on identifying specific advantages in our 4.0 investments; we believe that ours is more of a daily process necessary for the maintenance and development of our company, both internally and externally, which we will never stop approaching with curiosity and ambition. The real advantage is the development of our customers thanks to our services, as well as that of our employees and partners” - says Nicolosi.

Sustainability is also a possible goal when investing in innovation: “A further, undeniable advantage is that we have the tools to continuously reduce environmental impact, both by exploiting sustainable intermodality and by investing in green solutions, digital tools and business intelligence, which allow us to improve and reduce waste and channel resources as much as possible”, he concluded.
