Volvo Trucks to win the challenge of sustainability
image
At Transpotec the manufacturer is presenting an important preview: the Volvo FM Electric 4x2 tractor, a fully electric vehicle that will be presented together with the Volvo FE 6x2 Electric already available on the market. In the outdoor area, it will instead be possible to drive and personally experience the quietness and driving comfort of the Volvo FE Electric, again in the 6x2 configuration, with a total weight on the ground of 27 tonnes.

Volvo Trucks is responding to the sustainability challenge by bringing its sustainable transport solutions to the show. In Hall 18, it will be possible to see the Volvo FM Electric 4x2 tractor up close for the first time, the all-electric vehicle with a total weight on the ground of 44 tonnes, 490 kW (666 hp) of power and up to 300 km of range.

Low noise and no exhaust makes it perfect for regional transportation and distribution in urban centres even in zero emission zones, at any time of day or night. FM Electric can be ordered now, with first deliveries expected in the fourth quarter of 2022.

The 500 sqm stand will also host the Volvo FE 6x2 Electric, already available on the market, another important part of Volvo Trucks' journey towards Zero Emissions. Quiet, versatile and manoeuvrable, the Volvo FE is ideal for getting around in tight urban spaces. The model on display has a 100% electric cold room for temperature controlled transport with low noise.

In the outdoor area, it will be possible to drive and personally experience the quiet and comfortable driving of the Volvo FE Electric, again in the 6x2 configuration, with a total weight on the ground of 27 tonnes, up to 225 kW of continuous power and 3 to 4 battery packs of 66 kWh. A compact and powerful solution with a large load capacity and a range of up to 200 km.

For Volvo Trucks, sustainability is also about energy efficiency, which is why the FH I-Save, the most fuel-efficient engine ever, will be on display at Transpotec, with its new 420hp, 2400Nm of torque and software package designed to save fuel and reduce CO2.
